We promised learning opportunities inside and outside of the classrooms of our fabulous new sixth form centre. We promised ample opportunities for socialisation and teambuilding. We have a fantastic enrichment programme that will deliver on all these promises and we are kickstarting the academic year with a residential in Lawrenny. Read on to see what's on offer...
Castle School Sixth Form is pleased to be able to offer a non-compulsory two-night residential camping trip in Lawrenny on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd September 2021. This will be a great opportunity for our first cohort of sixth formers at our new Haverfordwest sixth form site to get to know other students and staff in readiness for a busy and exciting two years. Participation in this learning experiences enables our students to build on their personal and social competence as well as enabling them to make and seal friendships.
This is a fantastic opportunity to really get to know your peers and some of your teachers in a beautiful environment where you will get to appreciate the difference between pre and post 16 education. You will be on the residential because you want to be and because you want to learn, grow, and take every opportunity to experience new things that come your way. We know how difficult the last 18 months has been with all the lockdowns and loss of opportunities to socialise and make more memories. We hope to be able to bridge some of those gaps by beginning your post 16 education with this fantastic opportunity. We will leave from Castle School Sixth Form Centre on Snowdrop Lane, Haverfordwest, SA61 1ET at 10am on Thursday 2nd September and return on Saturday 4th September at 11am. The trip will include the following activities:
· Erecting and taking down of bell tents at beginning and end of trip (great for team building)
· A foraging and heritage walk around the beautiful Lawrenny estate
· Well-being fitness classes
· Volleyball/dodgeball with Miss Algieri and Miss Coleman
· A boat trip on the Haven (subject to numbers)
· Teambuilding session with Señor Rodriguez
· A wild swimming or snorkelling session with Laura Owen Sanderson of We Swim Wild plus inspirational talk from Laura
· Plus much more! You can find more information about The Little Retreat here: https://www.littleretreats.co.uk/wellbeing-retreats
