Bringing Diversity to Pembrokeshire and Preparing for Life after Sixth Form…

Last week during our Year 12 Community Organising lesson, we had guest speakers Alaidine Lazhar from Belgium and Mustafa Yunis from Birmingham. They spoke about running youth clubs, establishing and developing community centres and trying to be good role models for younger generations. They shared their experiences at school and college and their journey to excelling at university and landing lucrative jobs. Alaidine spoke about his struggles growing up as part of an immigrant family in Belgium and how he overcame systemic racism to now working with young people and training them to be good citizens, breaking the cycle of poverty and together creating the change they want to see in their society. It was important for our Sixth Formers to recognise their privilege and do something incredibly positive with it. It is just another step in preparing them for a multicultural world awaiting them at university or the work place. We have very limited places left for September 2022 Year 12 intake so why not arrange a visit to the Sixth Form Centre and see what we can offer you? Call 01437558010 or email s.madni@cspembs.co.uk to arrange your visit.
